The IICA Afghanistan research cooperation agreement has been signed between the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) and Afghanistan’s Center for Strategic Studies (CSS), according to an official statement.

The protocol was signed by Javlon Vakhabov and Abdul Hai Qanit, establishing a formal framework for research collaboration between the two institutions.

Officials said the IICA Afghanistan research cooperation is intended to support joint research, academic engagement, and the regular exchange of analytical outputs.

Mr Vakhabov said the agreement creates opportunities for conducting joint research and strengthening engagement between experts and researchers from both sides.

Mr Qanit said the protocol provides a basis for building a long-term institutional partnership between the two centres.

Both sides also agreed to organise a series of regular thematic discussions under the IICA Afghanistan research cooperation framework. These discussions will focus on regional security, trade and economic cooperation, transport and logistics, as well as water and energy issues.
